Our Mission

It is the mission of Growing in Grace to provide a Biblically sound, safe, and loving learning environment for all our families. To provide an opportunity to build lifelong friendships and to enhance the education that is already given at home. It is our desire to provide encouragement and to support our families though prayer, friendships, and get-togethers.

Homeschooling can be a challenging journey, and it is our goal to travel this road with you!

Unique Approach

At Growing in Grace, we offer a unique approach by having parent- led classes. Parents take an active role in leading classes for their children, allowing them to actively participate in their child's education.  Our aim is to create a supportive community that fosters growth and learning.

Board Members

Our Board Members are comprised of 5 individuals, who all love Jesus and enjoying serving our families.

Director- Rose Tudor

Rose and Sean are high school sweethearts. They celebrated 31 years together and 26 years of marriage this September (2025.) They have four children and two dogs who think they are kids as well.

Rose has worked with children from Pre-K and up for 26 years, with a focus in Early Childhood and Family Relations. Sean has a Bachelor’s in Leadership and Ministry from Ohio Christian University.

The Tudors began their homeschool journey 22 years ago with their oldest who is entering his third and final year of law school this fall. Originally from Ohio, we traded in the snow for the ocean. In our spare time you will probably find us on the pool deck cheering on our swimmers.

Assistant Director- Zenia McWhirter

Zenia and Bobby have been married for 20 years and they have 4 children and 3 dogs. They have been homeschooling on and off for 10 years and have graduated 2 of their children. Their oldest was married in August 2025 and their second oldest graduated with her Associates in Culinary Arts in 2024 and was married in March 2026.

They have been saved and living for God, for 16 years. Bobby has a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and a Masters Degree in Christian Munistry. He is also the Assistant Pastor at their home church in Spring Lake. They enjoy serving their family, their community and the people within their church.

Treasurer- Margie Bonilla

Margie and Brian Bonilla are both from Peru. Moved to NC from FL back in 2018. They have been married for 13 years and have 3 beautiful girls and welcomed their first son in May of 2025. Their homeschool journey began in 2020 when Margie felt the calling from God to take her girls out of public school and homeschool them. One of the best decisions they made, with God helping every step of the way. They enjoy traveling, serving their church and the warm weather!

"Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it."

Proverbs 22:6

Board Member- Emalee Morton

Emalee and Lincoln Morton have been married for 16 years and were baptized together the day before they were married. They have been blessed with four children.

Emalee and Lincoln pulled their oldest from public school in 2021 when the Lord called them to homeschool.

Emalee and Lincoln enjoy serving at their church, trips to the beach, hiking, and soaking up as much family time as they can.

Board Member - Kim Sharp

Kim and Woody have been married 27 years with 2 sons who are surprise blessings from God after 13 years of infertility.

Kim has a bachelor's degree in elementary education with a minor in childhood psychology.  She was a public school teacher for years and then made the switch to tutor neurodivergent kids with executive functioning deficiencies and learning disabilities.  She made the choice to be a stay at home mom after her oldest was born.  In 2020 he was diagnosed with Autism. When their neurologist suggested she homeschool she was very skeptical, but when her youngest was diagnosed with severe ADHD in 2024 she knew God was leading her to homeschool her kids.

Woody spent his youth in church camp, 4H, and in the later years at A.C.D.C (Apple Creek Developmental Center) where they worked with moderately to severely autistic and/or physically disabled children.

Kim and Woody enjoy camping, sending memes and reels to eachother and keeping the boys from bringing every creature they find home to be "pets".

What we Believe

We believe the Bible, in its original languages, is the inspired, inerrant Word of God, and is the final authority for what we believe and how we behave. What God revealed in the autographs (original documents) of the Old and New Testaments, He has, through His providential protection, preserved from corruption during the process of transmission so that the 66 books of the Bible that we have today are the Word of God.

We believe there is one God, creator of all things, eternally existent as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - the Holy Trinity.

We believe God took on human form in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, was crucified for our sins, was buried, was bodily resurrected, ascended to the right hand of the Father where He now serves as the believer's advocate before the Father and will come again in power and glory.
